A 50-year-old man was sentenced to two years and 17 days in prison for attempting to rape a 71-year-old woman in Samtse. Samtse court issued the judgment last week.

The incident occurred on September 11 last year when the woman was alone at home. The man turned up at her house in a drunken state and asked her to make tea for him saying he was thirsty.
