Connectivity: Villagers of Richanglu chiwog in Gomdar are happy that a road is finally coming to the village.

About 2km of the 14.6km road has been completed since work began from February.  Richanglu is a three-hour walk from the gewog centre.

Chiwog tshogpa Ngawang Chojay said the road had already encouraged many villagers to buy Bolero pickup trucks and increase orange and vegetable production.

“With such a benefit, we could form an orange group. Contractors could come to pick up the oranges, instead of us having to go to markets,” said Ngawang Chojay. “The villagers have already thought about having a milk cooperative.”

Gomdar Gup Lungten Wangdi said the farm road is expected to complete by June.
