Traffic: A 42-year-old woman died on impact when the Toyota Hilux she was travelling in veered off and fell about 20 feet below the road near Changzamtog Lower Secondary School in Thimphu on August 24.
The incident happened around 3:30am when she along with three other relatives were on their way to look out for her niece who had left home due to personal reasons.
According to a source, the deceased suffered severe head injuries and died at the Thimphu referral hospital. The driver had injured his hip and a cut on the left palm while one of the passengers fractured his pelvis bone.
Police said that a temporary hut was slightly hit and a wall collapsed. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and did not possess a driving licence.
