The Central Board of Irrigation and Power, India awarded Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) with the Best Performing Utility award on January 3 for having integrated operation in Generation, Transmission. A press release from BPC states that the award is in recognition for the outstanding contribution to the Bhutanese economy and improvement in living standards through accelerated rural electrification.

On December 29 last year, the Bureau Veritas Certification certified BPC as an ISO company. The three ISO standards it was certified are ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
