She had hoped to liquidate a construction loan after selling cardamom. But Thinly Bidha’s four bags of cardamom that she had stored for seven months were rejected.

The 57-year-old farmer from Korphu, Trongsa could not afford to send the bags to Gelephu due to high transportation expenses. “I was not able to understand the cause of rejection and have been crying not knowing what to do with the spice,” she said.
