Athletes break five national records

Nineteen-year old Kinga Rabgay broke the 100m dash national record of 11.29 seconds by completing the race in 11.20 seconds at the 14th National school athletics meet held in Thimphu yesterday. Footballer Chencho Gyeltshen held the last national record in 2014, when he competed from Kelki Higher Secondary School.

Thimphu City FC won the Pepsi Thimphu League title 2016/17. The football club is the only team to successfully defend the Thimphu League title since 2011. The last team was Yeedzin FC who won the league edition of 2010/11.

Gyalsey Futsal League begins

A total of 28 teams are participating in the futsal league that started on July 1 at the Youth Development Fund Complex in Thimphu. The league is dedicated to the birth anniversary of his Royal Highness the Gyalsey.
