Race: Project Dantak in collaboration with Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) will be organising the 5th open mountain bike race on April 19 to commemorate its 54th Raising Day in Bhutan.

Unlike in the past, this year the racers will be covering a total distance of 120 Kilometers, 20 kilometers more than previous years, hence the name, “Challenge 60- Sixty” coinciding with the 60th Birth Anniversary of Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

The race will begin from Changlimithang stadium taking the route of Chuzom to Paro (Drugyel) and back to Thimphu finishing at the Clock tower square.

To add to the celebrations, Dantak will be putting up food stalls comprising of Indian and Bhutanese cuisine. A musical performance from an Indian rock band SIFAR, the Dantak Jazz Band and young dancers and performers from local groups will also be staged at the Clock Tower square.

The winners of the race will be awarded cash prizes in three categories; open, women and youth under 16. Registration is now open and will be fee for all participants.
