To enhance access to justice and offer alternative to adversarial litigations to the litigants, the Bhutan National Legal Institute (BNLI) and the judiciary are in the process of institutionalising a Court-Annexed Mediation (CAM) service within the court system across the country.

Once in place, the in-house judicial mediation of disputes would enable people to opt out of litigations even after the cases are registered in the courts, at any stage of adjudication, in favor of mutual settlement, known as the Nangkha Nangdrig.
