A recent graduate from Royal Thimphu College, Dhendup, will contest for Druk Pheunsum Tshogpa (DPT) from Gasa’s Khamed – Lunana constituency.
The 26-year-old from Lunana gewog said his desire to serve the people of his constituency motivated him to join politics.
Dhendup from Thanza village has a Bachelors degree in Economics and EVS.
“I took up politics over a job because I think we can serve equally even by joining politics,” he said.
The candidate said it was not necessary that youth should look for government jobs after graduation.
He said he has received support from his family members and a positive response from the people of his constituency. “All have been very supportive and people are appreciating my move,” he said. “I also joined the party because of DPT’s strong leadership.”
Pema Drukpa of People’s Democratic Party is representing the constituency today.
