Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) sailed through the primaries in Trashiyangste yesterday winning a total of 5,443 votes in the two constituencies.

In both the constituencies, DPT won in EVM and postal votes.

In Bomdeling_ Jamkhar constituency, DPT won 1,425 EVM votes and 1,276 postal votes. Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) won 1,471 votes, 518 on EVM and 953 postal votes. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 1,567 votes, 927 on EVM and 640 in postal ballots. Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party (BKP) got 402 votes, 113 on EVM and 289 in postal ballots.

In Khamdang_Ramjar constituency, DPT won 2,742 votes, 1465 on EVM and 1,277 postal votes. DNT won 1,770 votes, 816 on EVM and 954 postal votes while PDP won 1,242 votes, 790 on EVM and 452 from postal ballots. BKP secured 418 votes, 178 on EVM and 240 from postal ballots.

There are 18,388 registered voters in Trashiyangtse. A total of 12,313 votes were cast through EVM and postal ballots for the primaries.
