An elephant calf separated from its mother fell into a drain near the Regional Revenue Customs Office in Gelephu yesterday.

According to sources, the incident occurred around 4:30am. Given the large size of the drain, witnesses said that the calf must have fallen into the drain when trying to cross the drain.
