Autumn is here. About this time, the people in the western part of the country are usually busy with rimdo (religious ceremonies). There is then, all of a sudden, conspicuous shortage of monks.

Shortage of monks for rimdo is growing by the day, not just in urban Bhutan, but also in the rural parts of the country. In a deeply Buddhist society, however, such norms and conventions will have to be observed.
