Accident: Four people died in two different motor accidents in Paro and Mongar yesterday.

A couple died on impact when the van they were travelling in veered off the road at Shaba in Paro. Their three-year-old child who was also in the vehicle survived the accident and is currently in stable condition at the Paro hospital.

The incident is reported to have occurred at 1:30pm. The cause of the accident is not known.

In another accident that occurred at around 2:30pm, a 27-year-old excavator operator and a 22-year-old driller died when their excavator went off the road.

The incident took place at Chompa in Mongar which is about 14km away from Mongar town towards Trashigang.

The excavator was deployed for road-widening work at Chompa. The accident occurred while cliff cutting was taking place.
