Festival: Joining the people of remote Lokchina gewog in Chukha to celebrate Dashain, His Majesty The King reassured the people that their difficulties would continue to receive His Majesty’s personal attention.
Hundreds of people from the gewog as well as from neighbouring areas gathered at the school grounds to meet their King on the auspicious day, and received the Dashain tika personally from His Majesty the King yesterday.
Addressing the people, His Majesty said that it was important for all Bhutanese people to remain united and live in harmony, so that the future of the country continues to be secure and peaceful.
His Majesty granted tokha (lunch) and spent the day amongst the people, who presented cultural performances for the occasion.
After the public celebration, His Majesty spent the rest of the day visiting the people in their homes till late in the evening. His Majesty spent the night camped in Lokchina.
His Majesty and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen also granted audience to the people of Sampheling gewog, where His Majesty granted tokha to the people.
Their Majesties are on a Royal Tour of the villages across Chhukha dzongkhag. His Majesty granted land Kidu to the people of Chukha on October 15.
