On June 28, His Majesty The King granted an Audience to the participants of the inaugural Foundational Leadership Programme (FLP), at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS), and visited several other places during a Royal Visit to Phuentsholing.

FLP is RIGSS’s new programme, intended for entry-level professionals. The main objective of the programme is to provide professional orientation and grooming, skills development and attitudinal transformation for the very young professionals towards becoming future leaders.

During the four-week course, the participants spent three weeks at the institute on modules designed to promote a better understanding and appreciation of issues related to the country, and learnt foundational leadership skills and related tools for public service.

A weeklong Immersion Program, where participants spent a week in a village in Chukha, was also part of the programme.

His Majesty also visited the site for the mini dry port, the second entry gate to Phuentsholing from Jaigoan, and the National Housing Development Colony, while in Phuentsholing.
