Fire: A single storied wooden house was razed to the ground in Pangserbo, Drujeygang in Dagana on October 17.

No one was injured in the fire.

According to Drujeygang gup, Thinley Wangchuk, all the family members were out of the house to attend the seventh day funeral rites of their late mother who expired last week in a lhakhang at Drujeygang.

“The wooden house was razed to the ground within no time and people could not contain the fire,” the gup said. “Not even a single belonging of the family could be saved,” he added.

The gup also pointed out that as the house stands alone, other houses were not affected by the fire.

There are four members in the family, two school going children, a sister who is a farmer and the father.

Gewog officials and neighbours had helped to construct a temporary house for the family, yesterday.

Meanwhile, His Majesty’s semso of Nu 10,000 was delivered to the victims of the fire immediately and the disaster management department provided them with emergency kits.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
