A total of 143 senior golfers and 43 junior golfers are taking part in the annual India House golf tournament that began yesterday at the India House golf club, Thimphu.

A separate category for the juniors was introduced in 2015. There are two lady golfers taking part in the senior category while 30 boys and 13 girls are taking part in the junior category.

The tournament attracts more than 160 golfers annually.

India House golf tournament is common among golfers and is played on the toughest golf course in the country.

Three days qualifying round will be played after which the tournament will proceed to two-day final round.

India House golf club has hosted the tournament since it began in 1995.

The tournament is organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of His Majesty The Fourth King and the coronation day anniversary of His Majesty The King.

The tournament ends on November 4.
