The first secretary for economy and commerce Embassy of India, S Koventhan handed over cheques of Nu 1.135B to Gross National Happiness Commission’s senior programme coordinator, Passang Dorji, on October 9.

The three cheques amounting to Nu 284.51M were for the three projects under project tied assistance (PTA) – Urban Water Supply Systems (Nu 100.33M), Automate G2C and G2B (Nu 20.88M), and Government Intranet System (Nu 163.3M).

The cheque worth Nu 851.222M is the second installment for the fourth batch of 104 Small Development Projects (SDP).

Government of India committed Nu 45B for the 11th Plan, of which Nu 28B is for PTA, Nu 8.5B for Programme Grant and Nu 8.5B for SDP.

To date, Government of India has released Nu 19.241B for GoI PTA projects, Nu 7.225B for Programme Grant and Nu 8B for SDP. In total, Government of India has released Nu 34.467B, which is 76.59 percent of the total committed for the 11th Plan.
