Jachungs win Pepsi A-League 2017

Team Jachungs defeated the defending champions Wizards, 96-87, in the second game of a best of three finals to reclaim the rolling trophy of the A-League Basketball Championship at the Swimming Pool Complex on April 15.

The Jachungs reclaimed the A-League Championship rolling trophy which they won in 2015, but lost to the Wizards last year. The Jachungs also took away a cash prize of Nu 60,000 while the Wizards bagged Nu 40,000.

The highest scorer of the game was Dorji Gyeltshen of Jachungs who made 29 points. He also pulled down the most rebounds with 26. He was declared the Most Valuable Player of the match.

Rinzin Wangchuk of Jachungs had the most steals with five while the Wizard’s Rinchen dished out the most assists with five.

Jachungs won the first game on April 14, 82-64.
