GNHC Director Rinchen Wangdi and Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan Office, Kozo Watanabe signed the record of discussions for the technical cooperation project for promotion of technology education and diffusion through digital fabrication laboratory on December 5.

The project will help to establish a global standard FabLab to enable a digital fabrication technology base at the College of Science and Technology (CST). The technical cooperation will look at means to enhance collaboration and interaction of interdisciplinary lab-based research within CST and other colleges, public and private institutions to create an enabling environment towards fostering innovation.

The FabLab at CST will be open to individuals and schools to work on their own needs, enhance their own skills and develop customised products that address their social and economic problems.

The 36 month project is expected to begin from April 2020.
