Like: Gives people a choice.

Dislike: Door to door campaign can be reviewed.

What according to you is the biggest challenge for the country?

Corruption.

We have health as the number one priority for all.

Set up a constituency office for the people to discuss issues of the locality.

It helps to reach people and is a medium to connect and contribute to nation building. However, it needs monitoring for a better future.

Humble, honest, workaholic.

Your priority for the constituency. 

Double rural household income through commercialisation and industrialisation of farming, and resolving human-wild life conflict issue.

Continue blacktopping all gewog centre and chiwog roads and maintain other farm roads for all seasons.

Realigning, shortening, maintenance and construction of central Trongsa-Zhemgang-Gelephu Highway.

Pursue with Government of India the implementation of Chamkharchhu I (770MW) project.

Zhemgang dzong renovation and development of Zhemgang town.

Upgrade and /or establish a college in Zhemgang.

Promote Zhemgang as an exotic eco-tourism destination.

One aspect you like and dislike in the ongoing election process? 

The best part of this ongoing election is we get to know people, their problems and aspiration, and actively contribute in promoting value-based democratic process.

.The worst part of this election is people spreading rumours, fear and divisive politics.

What according to you is the biggest challenge for the country?

Growing youth unemployment, social issues, national debt, trade deficit and donor-dependence economy are considered to be the biggest challenges for our country.

Three reasons why people should vote for you.

My past track record, experience, sincerity and honesty in serving the Tsawa-sum.

My party’s leader Pema Gyamtsho is one of the most experienced and enlightened leaders of our times.

üDPT has proven itself as a government and opposition, which can steer the country towards a united, safe, secure, harmonious and prosperous future for all Bhutanese.

The first thing you will do if you win.

Improve road access, economic development andagriculture industrialisation to double rural household income, eradicate poverty and promote exports.

Very effective to share information if used constructively but anonymous users fabricate information, creating fear, resentment and dividing the people along the party lines

Experience:  18 years in education as teacher and manager.

Education: MA In Economics/PGCE.

Describe yourself in three words.

Straight forward, hardworking and selflessness.

Your priority for the constituency. 

My priority for the constituency is flush toilets with enough water in all the houses, road connectivity to remaining remote villages, and reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity.

One aspect you like and dislike in the ongoing election process? 

Like – This time people know better about election procedures than the past two elections.

Dislike – Rumours spread by fans of a party and criticism being launched on other party’s pledges. I strongly dislike the way people are attached to one particular party without any logic or rationale.

What according to you is the biggest challenge for the country?

I am contesting for the second time and people know better why I want to represent them in the parliament.

People of Panbang must get to know how things work differently with a new Party in power and a new MP.

Should Nyamrup be elected as the ruling party, Panbang demkhong should have a representative in the ruling party and not from the opposition party.

Three reasons why people should vote for you.

Call my supporters who have made sacrifices for my success and reassure the pledges to be accomplished and ask them get ready for our big journey for the next five years.

The first thing you will do if you win.

Providing gainful employment to the ever-increasing number of graduates.

Social media, a boon or bane in this election for you?

Social media has helped me in many ways to reach different stratum of people. It is a necessary means of conveying things in a transparent way.

Dorji Wangdi

Age: 49

Experience: Labour and Human Resource Minister, Opposition MP and Deputy Secretary in Cabinet.

Education: MBA with specialisation in Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy and B.Com (Hons).

Describe yourself in three words.

Broadminded, understanding and an intuitive person.

Your priority for the constituency. 

The most important is the construction of around 21 new and improvement of nine farm roads. Others include electrification of around 320 households, income enhancement programmes for farmers, irrigation and drinking water supply, support for rural housing, establishment of Panbang throm and promotion of tourism.

One aspect you like and dislike in the ongoing election process? 

This election has been smooth and adventurous for me. The most I liked is the excellent coordination and support from elections officials. The most upsetting is the interference by local government leaders.

What according to you is the biggest challenge for the country?

Youth unemployment. This will be the make or break factor for the future well being of our nation.

Three reasons why people should vote for you.

For my knowledge and experience in governance, past performance in my constituency and my genuine will and strong constituency manifesto for further upliftment of my people.

The first thing you will do if you win.

Finalise site for the construction of bridge over Mangdechu for farm road to Tashibi Chiwog and farm roads to other five chiwogs. The bridge and farm roads have been long overdue.

Social media, a boon or bane in this election for you?

It has been both but largely a boon. The problems have been largely with anonymous users.
