His Holiness the Je Khenpo hosted a tokha for hundreds of people of Lhuentse who had gathered at the Namdroling Monastery in Tshenkhar to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of The Fourth Druk Gyalpo on November 11.

The celebration began with the unfurling of the Guru Rinpoche Thongdrel and display of nangtens, followed by a recitation of zhabten by the Dratshang khenpo, monks and people for His Majesty’s long life.

As part of the celebrations, monks performed a tsepa (debate) while students performed cultural dances.

On November 9, dzongkhag officials attended the unfurling of Tsepamay Thongdrel and displayed important relics and antiques in the dzong. On November 10, the dzongkhag administration organized an open marathon and song competitions.
