Coinciding with Lord Buddha’s Parinirvana, the Lhuentse Dzongkhag Scouts’ Association paid a tribute to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo by erecting 1,000 prayer flags, reciting 1,000 prayers, offered 1,000 butter lamps and planted 1,000 saplings in Takila  around the giant Guru statue on June 2nd.

Senior Dzongkhag Education Officer, Sherub Gyeltshen said the association organised the program to pay their respect to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.

The program began with an offering of 1,000 butter lamps, followed by a marchang ceremony, national anthem, Zhabten to His Majesty-the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, and the Dzongrab reading out the Social Forestry Day message.

The event brought together scouts leaders from 17 schools, and more than 500 scout members of Lhuentse HSS, Minjey MSS, Autsho MSS, Thimyul LSS, Khoma LSS and students of Tangmachu Central School.
