Visit: Lyonchhoen Tshering Tobgay called on India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 10, soon after he landed in Ahmedabad, India.

The two Prime Ministers discussed matters of mutual interests on tourism, hydropower, mining, education and cooperation in areas of security.

Lyonchhoen also visited Sabarmati Ashram, once the residence of Mahatma Gandhi where he lived for about 12 years with his wife Kasturba Gandhi and the Kids city where children are given an opportunity to learn about different professions through role-play.

En route to the Kid’s centre, Lyonchhoen was offered a special ride on a public bus service known as the Janmarg. It is a Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) based on the concept of equitable road space that allows right of way to thousands of people who don’t own vehicles.

Lyonchhoen Tshering Tobgay is on an official visit to India on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation and will visit the cities of Ahmedabad, Gujurat, New Delhi, Varanasi and Bodhgaya.
