Metrology law to standardise weighing units

The need for a metrology law for Bhutan was discussed during the second South Asian Association for Regional Corporation (SAARC) and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)workshop on best practice in metrology law development in Thimphu, yesterday.

Framing a metrology law would mean an agency adopting the legal requirement for measurement and measuring instruments. This would help standardise the weighing unit, enable business to demonstrate compliance with regional and international market requirements and improve access to trade.
