22 September, 2007 - The Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) this week appointed 17 senior civil servants to executive posts of director general, dzongda and director in the civil service.
The managing director of Chukha, Yeshi Wangdi, has become the director general of energy department, and the managing director of woodcraft centre, Sangay Wangdi, is the new industry director.
A specialist with the National Bio-diversity Centre, Dr. Ugyen Tsewang, Planning Commission’s chief planning officer, Karma Weezir and the Royal Audit Authority’s chief auditor, Tshering Kezang, have all been appointed as dzongdas.
The managing director of the Forest Development Corporation Ltd., Karma Dukpa, is now the director of forest department, the Chief Livestock Officer, Dr. Tashi Samdrup, is the director of Council of RNR Research, and Chencho Norbu of the National Soil Services Centre is the agriculture director.
Karma Yeshi of the Curriculum And Professional Support Division is the director of the department of Adult and Higher Education, Chencho Dorji of the National Plant Protection Centre, is the director of Department of Youth and Sports, and Singay Namgyal, Dean of Paro College of Education, is the director of Sherubtse College.
The director of Sustainable Development Secretariat, Nim Dorji, is the director of public accounts department, the regional commissioner of Phuentsholing, Choyzang Tashi, is the revenue and customs director, and Choiten Wangchuk of the finance ministry is the director of National Budget.
The national library director, Dorjee Tshering, is the director of the Department of Culture, the chief planning officer of works and human settlement ministry, Sonam Rinchen, is the director of the department of human resources, and Kinley T Wangchuk, the deputy registrar of Intellectual Property Division, is the director of Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority.
According to the RCSC, the appointments were approved based on the open selection interviews.
