Sports 16 October, 2007 - For the first time in Bhutan’s football history, the national team made it to the finals for the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup, only to be thrashed 4-0 by Chiragh United from Kolkata yesterday at Sikkim, India.
Football officials said that our team has been participating in the tournament every season.
The cup was played in preparation for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship, that will be held in Sri Lanka in May next year. The team had left for Sikkim on October 2.
