Gangzur Minjey’s Member of the Parliament, Kinga Penjor, questioned the minister for works and human settlement (MoWHS), Dorji Tshering, on the authenticity of the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report on Shingkhar-Gorgan road at the National Assembly yesterday.

He said that Lhuentse would benefit the most from the road construction and help to reduce the high rate of poverty in Lhuentse and the surrounding dzongkhags if the EIA report was approved. He asked if the EIA was carried out by MoWHS or by some private consultancy firm.
