Except for a minor crack in the wall of Lhasang Primary School in Dagana and some minor cracks, no major damages were reported in the country from the tremor that struck Bhutan yesterday morning.

Officials with the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) said there have been no reports of major damage or destruction from the dzongkhags although a tremor was felt.

According to United States Geological Survey, the magnitude read 5.3 on the Richter scale. Most reports described it as a moderate earthquake with the epicenter in Kokrajhar, Assam, India.

Meanwhile, on September 21, DDM said that schools including Early Child and Care Development centers across the country would conduct mock drill to remember the Narang earthquake.
