A book, ‘The Life and Deeds of Padmasambhava: A Bhutanese Chronicle’ was launched in Thimphu on November 3. Written in chokey by four Bhutanese authors, it presents the life and deeds of Guru Rinpoche in Bhutan.

One of the authors, Karma Phuntsho (PhD) said that Guru Rinpoche is an integral aspect of Bhutan looking at the religion and culture of the country. This book gives a story of who Guru Rinpoche is or who we believe he is and what he has left behind as a legacy for all, he said. 

The book was written by late Dasho Sangay Dorji, former secretary of Dzongkha Development Commission and Dzongkha Specialist; Gyonpo Tshering, former director of National Library and Archives of Bhutan; Kunzang Thinley, chief editor and researcher of KMT Publications; and Karma Phuntsho (PhD), director of Shejuen Oral Literature Project.

The research for the book was supported by the Government of India under the management of the National Library and Archives of Bhutan.
