A six-day exhibition on “Textile Arts from the Land of the Peaceful Dragon’ opened at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts in New Delhi, India on January 10. The exhibition is held to showcase, promote and introduce for export Bhutanese textile to international markets, besides providing a platform for cultural exchange between the two countries. Royal Patron, Her Majesty the Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck attended the opening along with the President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Dr Karan Singh. ICCR, India-Bhutan foundation and the Bhutanese government supported the exhibition.
Update: The former gup and royal advisory councillor Chang Ugyen’s defence lawyer asked the High Court’s Bench I to quash the lower court’s two-and-a-half-year-sentence for allegations remaining not ‘proven beyond reasonable doubt’.
