A team of four officials, led by the Chakzod (personal secretary), administrator of the two largest monasteries Hemis and Chemdrey with 200 branches in Ladakh, India offered mendrel on October 21 to His Holiness the Je Khenpo Tulku Jigme Choeda in Thimphu.

The team comprising monks and members of Buddhist community in Ladakh came to Thimphu as representatives of Gyalwang Drukpa Rimpoche to offer mendrel as a gesture of appreciation to the Je Khenpo for conferring the Oral Transmission.

Bhutan and Ladakh share a strong religious and spiritual connection established during the time of Zhabdrung.
