The deputy chief program officer of Bhutan Scouts Association (BSA), Nawang Gyeltshen, who is also the messenger of peace coordinator received the messenger of peace award during the 26th Asia-Pacific region conference in Manila, the Philippines on October 20. 

The BSA was also recognised for achieving substantial growth of membership, an increase of 27 percent for the triennium (2015-2018) on October 20 at the Philippines International Convention Centre, Manila.
