A forest fire that started around 4:30pm yesterday in Kharza-Lephu chiwog in Yangnyer, Trashigang continues to rage into the night. Gewog officials, locals, police and Desuup are engaged in containing the fire. Steep and rugged terrain makes it difficult to deploy officials according to gewog officials. Another forest fire in Udzorong gewog has destroyed more than 50 acres of forest since it started on January 30. The fire is yet to be contained.
