Bhutan and Japan held its 16th annual consultations on economic cooperation  virtually, yesterday. 

 The two delegations discussed the status of Japan’s assistance to Bhutan, Needs Survey 2021, and the progress report on Mid-term Review of 12th Plan. The two sides also reviewed the ongoing projects and deliberated on the new project proposals from Bhutan. 

Bilateral Affairs Director Sonam Tobgay led the Bhutanese delegation. The Japanese delegation was led by Shingo Miyamoto, Minister (Economic and Development), Embassy of Japan, New Delhi. JICA Bhutan Office Chief Representative, Kozo Watanabe, and other officials from the JICA headquarters also attended the meeting.
