PM leaves for Sri Lanka tomorrow

On the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena, Lyonchoen Tshering Tobgay will be on an official visit to Sri Lanka from tomorrow until April 11.

A Memorandum of Understanding on Foreign Office Consultation will be signed between Bhutan and Sri Lanka during the visit. Sri Lanka will also gift the government a Holy Bodhi tree Sapling as a gift on the occasion of the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.

The education minister, officiating foreign secretary and senior government officials are accompanying the Prime Minister. During the visit, Lyonchoen will meet the President of Sri Lanka and the Prime Minister among other senior government officials.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries was established in 1987.
