Visit: Lyonchoen Tshering Tobgay on June 3 met with Members of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with South Asia led by the Chairperson Jean Lambert on the second day of his visit to the European Union in Brussels.

Lyonchoen had wide ranging discussions with the Parliamentarians including on strengthening relations and cooperation between the Parliaments of Bhutan and the European Union.

Lyonchoen also met the President of the European Council Donald Tusk and discussed Bhutan-European Union relations and in particular EU development aid to Bhutan. Lyonchoen thanked the President for the generous assistance extended to Bhutan since 1982.

On the sidelines of the European Development Days, Lyonchoen also met the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel during which the two leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and identified a number of areas for collaboration. Lyonchoen also held discussions on bilateral relations with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Development Cooperation, Alexander De Croo.
