Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, in a Facebook post, clarified that the Cabinet ministers will not be allowed to keep their duty vehicles after the completion of their tenure.

Lyonchoen said that duty vehicles belong to the government and they are provided to help the cabinet ministers fulfil their official responsibilities and to serve the people while the ministers are in office. “It is not an entitlement; we cannot keep the duty vehicles after our tenure.”

Lyonchoen made the statement following Cabinet ministers not answering a question in Parliament about whether they intend to keep the vehicles once their tenures end.
