Principle of Yadi Central School Kesang Tshering was awarded the excellence in education award.

Former minister Kinzang Dorji in his address said that Indo-Bhutan Association has been engaged in promoting and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that his generation has witnessed how the relationship between India and Bhutan was formed, evolved and developed with time.

He said this is the first time that he has seen private institutions engaged in enhancing and promoting the relationship between two nations. “This is people to people mode of promoting and strengthening relations,” he said.

He also said that bilateral relations between two nations cannot afford to be complacent and the existing relationship cannot be taken for granted.  He emphasised the relation between two nations as sacred and urged everyone to protect and nurture it. “We should not leave this responsibility of promoting and strengthening relationships to leaders, government’s institutions and concerned associations,” he said.

Participants also made presentations on Indo- Bhutan Trade relations and principles of happiness.

The collaborative initiative of Institute of Management Studies and Global Leader Foundations was initiated to promote and strengthen long-lived indo-Bhutan friendship.  The summit is the first platform developed at the institution level. The initiative taken by two institutions would now remain as an example to enhance people to people mode of promoting and strengthening the relationship between two diverse nations.

The award function was the 13th South Asian Excellence award given to recognise the achievement and contribution of the individuals in their institutions.
