An Indian number registered truck yesterday struck the Phuentsholing general hospital’s entry gate around 10am, damaging it completely. It dislocated the gate from the concrete.

The truck was ferrying raw materials for one of the industries in Pasakha but took the wrong road. The driver, a 75-year-old man said his navigator had given him the wrong direction. “I have come here after 10 years,” he said.

Initially, the truck was stuck inside the gate’s frame and blocked the traffic to hospital. In order to free the blockage, the truck pushed about 20-metres away and took along the roof of the gate with it.

An official from Pasakha industry said the transport firm of the truck would make up for the loss.
