Crime: Gomtu police are yet to establish why a 37-year-old woman stabbed her 49-year-old husband on July 16.

A neighbour reported the incident to the police at around 10pm. When the police arrived at the scene, the husband was already dead.

It is believed that the woman was suffering from depression and police are yet to get the woman’s statement.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Trashigang police detained a 63-year-old man for chopping his friend’s left leg who died the next morning.

According to the suspect’s statement to police, the duo was herding cattle in Pangkabla in Kangpar, Trashigang when an argument broke between the two over the grazing area.

The suspect told police that the deceased tried to strangle him during the argument. According to police, the suspect and his friend went to sleep in the suspect’s shed after the argument.

The nephew of the deceased reported the case to police when the man was found dead in the morning.

The case is under investigation.
