While search is still on for the two students of Pelrithang Middle Secondary School who went missing since June 9, Gelephu police found the two students, aged 15 and 16, who went missing on June 10 from their home in Karbithang, Chuzagang, near a jungle near Maukhola yesterday.

The class seven students of Norbuling Central School told police that since they did not go to school from June 2, they feared that the school would take disciplinary action against them and ran away from home too.

The two students claimed they went to Bumthang on a bus and lived by the roadside at Chumey for few days. They returned to Gelephu on June 13 and hid in a jungle near Maukhola.

Gelephu police handed them to the parents yesterday.

Meanwhile, Gelephu police found two students, aged 15 and 13, attempting to cross the border through Aiepoli jungle route in Gelephu on June 14.

Police alleged that the two students had run away from home.

While the 15-year-old is from Laya and studying in class five in Samtenling Primary School, the 13-year-old boy is from Samtenling, Gelephu and he is studying in class six in the same school.

Police alleged that the boy from Laya took his mothers’ jewellery and the students told police that they wanted to go to India.
