Bhutan still grapples with mounting waste

Zero Waste Hour for Zero Waste Society by 2030

Bhutan will observe at least an hour on the second day of every month as the “Zero Waste Hour” to achieve Bhutan’s vision of Zero Waste Society by 2030.

The National Environment Commission’s (NEC), “My waste, my responsibility”, which was launched by Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen on June 2, coinciding with the Coronation Day of His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, is expected to instil a behavioural change for proper waste management and practice sustainable consumption lifestyle.
