With South -West monsoon active over the country, heavy to very rainfall has been recorded in the southern belts during the last 24 hours.

Active monsoon is likely to continue during the next 48 hours, the National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology forecasts.

“Due to this the southern and eastern parts of the country is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall while the rest is likely to receive light to moderate rain during these periods,” an advisory the centre issued today states. “Gusty wind with thunderstorm is also likely over isolated places of the southern and eastern parts of the country.”
