Despite an impressive performance by the two Bhutanese Paralympic athletes at the 3rd Asian Para Games, the duo could not qualify into the elimination rounds.

Bhutanese para-archer, Pema Rigsel, 30, lost to Malaysia in the seven meters wheelchair recurve archery. Para-shooter, Kinley Dem, did not qualify for the knockouts as she scored 580.9 points out of 654 in the 10 meters wheelchair air rifle shooting.

Although the two athletes had a short duration of training time for the Games, they put up a good show at the competition, according to federation officials. The classification of two athletes was also conducted by international classifiers.

Her Royal Highness Princess Euphelma Choden Wangchuck, the President of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee led the delegation.

More than 4,000 athletes from 43 countries are taking part in the week-long Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Games ended yesterday.

Bhutan Paralympic Committee was established in September 2017 and is the youngest Paralympic Committee in the world.
